Addition supports the mind and body

Customer Issues
This homeowner has two lifestyle passions. One is being a fine artist and the second is being a lifelong swimmer. For some time, she wished to have a studio in her home to create her art and recently she was finding it more and more difficult to locate an indoor pool so she could swim year-round.

Bel Air Construction Solutions
The homeowner engaged Bel Air Construction to develop a solution that satisfies both passions. The result is a stunningly beautiful 786 square foot addition to the home that is divided into a spa and studio.

The addition has been carefully married to the existing home so that it does not appear to be an afterthought. The style and the color of the siding are matched perfectly. Design elements such as the arch window in the gable of the existing structure were emulated in the new construction. Pella doors and windows were selected with finishes that complement the color pallet of the home.

The studio is spacious with numerous windows and a skylight to provide natural lighting for her to sculpt, paint or work on other crafting projects. Storage for supplies and tools is provided by a row a cabinetry with numerous drawers and cabinets. The cabinets are topped with a durable quartz work surface and includes a sink for convenient clean up. A custom designed and built canvas rack is incorporated with the cabinets and is adjacent to a large storage closet. Light colored natural hardwood brings warmth to the room.

On the spa side of the addition our team worked with two different pool and spa partners to create a luxurious in-home spa. The dominant feature of the room is the swim-spa. Bel Air Construction worked closely with Endless Pools to customize their product. The swim-spa decking is Silestone Quartz and is skirted with hemlock. In keeping with the creation of a spa the room includes a sauna. For convenience a custom shower is incorporated into the space.
