February Home Maintenance Checklist

Now that winter is in full swing, it is a great time to take a little time for the maintenance around your home.  Here are a few quick items to check in your home.

• Replace filters or wash permanent ones in heating system.
• Check faucets in kitchen, bathroom, basement, etc. for leaks and other problems.
• Check washing machine hoses for leaks. If your machine has old rubber hoses, it might be a good time to replace with no-burst hoses available at the local hardware store
• Remove and clean the intake screens of clothes washer water supply hoses.
• Inspect and clean out the clothes dryer vent..
• Remove sediment from buildup in your hot water heater tank.
• Inspect the attic for signs of roof leaks, condensation or frost build up and clear vents.
• Remove snow and ice from bushes.

Staying on top of monthly maintenance items can save you time and money down the road.
