Large porch is an outdoor living room
Customer Issues
For many years the homeowner yearned for a large covered and screened porch on the rear of their home to entertain and relax outside protected from the elements and pests.
Bel Air Construction Solutions
Working closely with the Bel Air Construction design and production teams, the homeowner’s dream has come to fruition. Designed and constructed of state-of-the-art materials, the finished project is more of an outdoor living room than a porch.
Extending the entire length of the rear of the home, the foundation of the porch is constructed of masonry block and concrete. The concrete floor is finished with a blue granite epoxy coating. This foundation provides 448 sq. ft. of living space with room for several seating areas.
Constructed on that foundation is the covered and screened portion of the project with the following features:
- Pressure treated wood columns are wrapped in low maintenance Versatex white vinyl.
- Classically designed white Shoreline vinyl railing system.
- Two ceiling fans to help with airflow.
- A skylight to bring in additional natural light.
- In a nod to a Southern tradition, a Piazza blue, low-maintenance Versatex bead board ceiling is installed to ward off unwanted spirits and pests.
- ScreenEze screening system applied from floor-to-ceiling providing an unobstructed view.
Access to the porch is by either of the two sets of stairs or the ramp. Deck boards for the ramp and stairs are Trex Enhance composite in Foggy Wharf. This low maintenance decking is salty gray in hue with a simulated wood grain.
