Aesthetically Pleasing Bath Makeover

Customer Issues
After renovating their first floor a number of years ago these homeowners have returned to Bel Air Construction to focus on the second floor of the home they have lived in since 1999. The focus of the renovation is the master bath. The primary objective for the redesign is a high-functioning and aesthetically pleasing space. Within the design objective is the desire for a large shower with no door.
Bel Air Construction Solutions
The Bel Air Construction team explored several options for the renovation. The project was a to-the-studs renovation presenting the opportunity to rearrange the room layout to improve functionality. The additional space needed to achieve the homeowners’ interest in increasing the width and depth of the shower was gained by eliminating a no longer desired soaking tub.
The high-functioning and aesthetically pleasing bath features:
- The much desired deeper and wider shower with MSI Staturario Carra marble-like large format wall tiles, a wide niche is accented with MSI Boat House blue glass mosaic tiles, and the shower floor is complementary colored Marazzi 3” hexagon mosaic tiles. A large custom glass panel and a linear drain system contain the water. There is an overheard Signature Hardware rain shower and well as a Kohler Devonshire hand shower fixture.
- Previously separate vanities now consolidated on the wall opposite the shower. They are from DuraSupreme. Separating the two is a linen closet. The vanities are topped with MSI quartz countertop materials and feature Kohler Devonshire fixtures.
- The bathroom flooring is a dark MSI Cyrus luxury plank vinyl that provides contrast to the otherwise primarily white room.
- All tile is installed over Schluter substrates, a watertight system that eliminates the risk of failures due to water and vapor penetration. High-performance antimicrobial grout fights the growth of mold and mildew on the grout surface.
