Bel Air Construction

Designing A Maine Cabin Addition

Customer Issues

  • The homeowners wanted to create an outdoor escape by converting the unused patio space under an elevated deck into a usable space
  • The customer wanted to create the look and feel of a cabin in Maine to complement the adjacent wooded area

Bel Air Construction Solutions

The Bel Air Construction team created a design that features:

  • Log siding on the walls to create the cabin look and feel
  • A Synergy southern yellow pine beadboard ceiling complements the log siding
  • Large, screened openings using the ScreenEze screen system allow expansive views of the adjacent woods
  • A gas fireplace with a fieldstone veneer surround and rustic wood mantel to warm the room and extend its use
  • A low maintenance stamped wood grain concrete floor replaces the previous concrete pad
  • A traditional cedar screen door completes the look
  • Unseen is the Trex Rain Escape system that provides proper drainage of water from the above-exposed deck
