Front Porch Addition Harkens to Childhood

Front Entrance Makeover

Customer Issues

These homeowners had been in their 1960s era home for over three decades and had often discussed adding a real front porch reminiscent of one from a childhood home. After deciding that they planned on staying put they knew it was time to invest in their home and make the dream porch a reality.

Bel Air Construction Solutions

Working closely with the Bel Air Construction team, the porch has been designed and constructed of state-of-the-art materials that achieve the desired look and feel of traditional materials without the maintenance. Using our 3D Design/Build process the Bel Air Construction team was able to visually demonstrate how the completed project would look.

What was previously a 6×8 foot concrete pad and step is now a covered front porch nearly three times the size of what previously existed.

Features of the porch include:

  • A gabled canopy that extends from the roofline to announce the entrance to the home.
  • Substantial posts are wrapped in vinyl and include decorative crown and base trim. Along with the vinyl rail system they have the look of finished millwork without the required maintenance..
  • Blind-fastened Timbertech Mahogany tongue and groove porch boards offer the look and feel of a wood floor.
  • In a nod to the Southern tradition, a Versatex Piazza blue, beadboard ceiling is installed to ward off unwanted spirits and pests.
  • A unique no-show fastening vinyl rail system looks like traditional millwork.
  • As a finishing touch the porch is skirted in white Versatex.
  • The porch is deep enough to accommodate rocking chairs, and a ceiling fan keeps the air moving.
  • Enhancing the welcoming nature of the new porch is a curved stamped concrete sidewalk.
